NAU band day
Ok here is one that someone already put up on youtube.  This was the first year that I took over at the current high school I instruct at. We did Jesus Christ Superstar that year.  This was our first competition, the band didn't do so well but we (the guard) managed a caption award for this performance.  A caption award is an award given in each division for an outstanding performance.  Its sort of hard to see the guard, just look for people in blue throwing flags around lol

Wow! Great show!

As band parents (specifically percussion parents), Arthur and I eat, sleep, and breathe marching shows every fall. I can imagine how proud you are when you actually direct what the kids do!

Ok, so now I am going to watch this show over again so I can watch the drumline!!! LOL

LOL Stella, spoken like a true band mom. Percussion, I love em. We go hand in hand with percussion, watch specifically the end of the show off to your ummm right I think you will see the drum line workin it out. Does your percussion do winter drum line?

Misery, that is the problem, the band was going in TOO many different directions on that particular day. But to give them a break, this was VERY EARLY in the season so there were lots of things to be "cleaned" yet. One of those things was the drill (the formations on the field you see them attempting to create) I personally like to write my own drills for the guard so we have the benefit of being able to work on it early in the summer, where as the band has theirs written for them and usually they do not get it until the beginning of the school year.

Wyldreams-can you take me back and tell me how you got involved in the beginning? I have more experience on the horn side...but would love to get back involved. And...I sew!!! Any little nugget of info. I"d appreciate.
