What is your personal motto?
Happy Birthday To ME!!!! well that is my motto for the day....other then today I would have to say....
Humm....How about, what goes around comes around...or Karma is a bitch.
Yep I think those work quite nicely and there are a few people who have floated through my life whom I am watching and waiting for Karma to bitch them up.
Meanwhile I am off to Vegas in a few hours...We have lots planned hopefully photography will work in there somewhere.
Ta,
Pam
Coincidentally, this weekend is my sweet fuzzy foreign husbands birthday, so we are going to escape for the weekend. We are both taking Friday off and leaving for the coast. Its starting to heat up here in the desert Southwest, so a nice cool ocean breeze, a walk along the beach squishing sand between our toes, waking up to have coffee on the balcony in the morning overcast foggy light, and exploring things that might inspire me to memorialize them in photography has a great deal of appeal.
Its these weekend escapes that I bless the site Priceline. So far for about the last 2 years we have used Priceline to make our reservations, and have been deliriously happy with the results. Since we are well acquainted with the San Diego area, I just plug in the areas we want to stay ( which are normally either coastal or downtown) and name a price. We have managed to score 4 star accommodations at less the $100.00/night for nearly all of our trips. Normally these resorts have price tags of $200.00 and up a night.
The current rez has us staying at a resort that is adjacent to the Petco ball park - where the Padres play. Sadly they do not have a home stretch this weekend and thus probably the reason that this rez request went through. It has a couple of skywalks that go directly to the entrance of the ballpark. The lights will be dark there this weekend, but I am sure we can find many, many other things to do, not the least of which is hanging out on the beach.
At this point I am not sure if I will bring the lappy, so I might also be dark this weekend, but will be back HOPEFULLY well rested, well sated, well loved, and, well, ready to take on the last two months of school.
First let me explain the WTF picture I posted last night. I found it on the internet a while back, it was an appropriate picture for the experiences someone related to dating on a forum I belong to - so I dug it out and posted it there, then I realized that it is also apropo for the way I was feeling last night, so I used it here on the blog...you see, my youngest, my sweet baby girl who I have adored and raised all these years turned 18 yesterday!!! My last of three wonderful kids. BTW she is the one in the green shirt in the above photo with her older sister, doing what sisters do best - cutting up. The pic was taken about a year ago and it is one of my favourites of the two of them, it just is so.....them. When they are together it seems like they laugh endlessly AND effortlessly.
They are 3 years apart in age, but have always been very close. When they were little, they developed a language all their own - much like twins do, the sound of the words always made me laugh it was just so silly.
I never had a sister, only 2 older stupid brothers, so I love/d to watch these two as they have grown through the years, see their interaction and sharing, caring. Its truely amazing, a relationship that leaves me somewhat wistful that I had had a sister as well.
Anyway, back to the WTF. We had just come back from taking Ariceli and her boyfriend of the month to dinner for her Bday. 'Celi had been telling me about all the plans she had now as she was an ADULT. The plans to move out of our house this summer ( she has no job at the moment so I am thinking that she has found the one and only money tree in existence in the world) How she should now be able to come home when she wants and not have a curfew anymore, how she wants to travel the world and shop for high designer clothing and accessories (again that money tree must be flourishing) etc. I just sat and smiled and applauded her on her lofty goals. Time will tell if all these things come to fruition. As for the curfew I said "sure Celi come home whenever you want, you are an adult after all" She was pleased as punch that I was acknowledging her ability to run her own life...
She managed to stay out until the wee hour of 10:30pm....
When I asked what in the world she was doing home so early, she said, I am tired mom.
I just had to chuckle and ask to myself, wtf.
